Samsung sold 5 million Galaxy A phones in India in only 70 days

After being in the game for 40 days, Samsung’s Galaxy A phones hit 2 million sales in India. Just after 30 days later, the company announced that the Galaxy A Series crossed the 3 million units. Now, it has 5 million units sold in just 70 days.

This news was announced by Samsung’s Chief Marketing Officer India. The man spoke with Reuters, and also revealed that the company has generated so far a revenue north of $1 billion.

By the way, the South Korean electronics giant is expecting its 2019 revenue to pass the $4 billion. In fact, Samsung’s revenue in India for 2018 was $5.3 billion. Also, we can clearly see that Samsung hopes on its new Galaxy A phones to generate more sales each year.

However, the new Galaxy A Series price start from INR 5,300 ($75) to INR 29,000 ($410). In terms of numbers, the average selling price over the first 70 days was ($200).

Most importantly, World largest smartphone manufacturer claims that it controls 77% market share in India’s premium segment.
